5 Things Michele Recommends
Michele is an endless source of book recommendations, and in a past life, was probably a library cat who pushed books off the shelves at people walking past that she thought they should read.
The best business books she’s read this year that she strongly recommends you read are No Bullsh!t Strategy and The Pricing Roadmap.
The best non-business books she’s read this year are Everything Is Tuberculosis and Say Nothing.
If you haven’t read Never Split the Difference yet, you should do that. If you have, you should level up and take an in-person negotiations workshop at your local university. They are often offered as one-day or weekend workshops for professionals, and you don’t need to be an enrolled student or have a degree.
A 25-minute nap is apparently, according to science, the perfect length of time for a nap as it’s one REM cycle. Michele has tested this many times, and can heartily recommend it. 25-minute naps and comedy podcasts are her battle-tested secret for surviving Scandinavian winters.
Feeling stuck on a problem, annoyed with someone, or just stressed? Michele is a big fan of brisk walks. Before sending that email in a fit of frustration or banging your head against the desk as you work out a knotty strategic challenge, put on a podcast and take a 15 minute walk. Even if it’s mid-winter. You’ll think better afterwards. (For the thorniest problems. it helps to have a square of dark chocolate while you walk.)
