“Our fear is all the same. It’s that our product’s gonna flop, that it’s not gonna take off. We openly talk about it and I’m like, ‘Oh, this is so normal.’ And so then it makes it feel a little bit more fixable, relatable, and approachable, and we can all have ideas for how to just get past this.”

Program Overview

Phase 1: Application + Matching Cycle (3 Weeks)

During the first phase of our Mastermind Program, you will be invited to apply for our matching service based on your current MRR. Once you’ve submitted your application, we will send you a few tips on how to prepare for the program, get your profile set up for our Mastermind Portal, and answer any questions you may have.

Phase 2: Meet Your Mastermind (2 Weeks)

This kicks off the official start of the program. Within the first two weeks, you will need to schedule your first meeting, establish the format of your mastermind, and schedule at least three months of discussions on the cadence your group prefers. We will host a Mastermind 101 meeting, hosted by the MicroConf team, to give you the basics on how to run a great mastermind.

Phase 3: The “Official” Program (3 Months)

The first three months of the MicroConf Mastermind Program have been designed to help solidify the bond between the members of your Mastermind and the community as a whole. The MicroConf Hub and Mastermind Portal will be your living, breathing workspace where you can coordinate with your group, find curated resources, and track your goals. We will host two additional mentor sessions with your revenue group and send you weekly conversation topics that you might want to discuss in your group.

Phase 4: Teamwork Makes the Dream Work (Forever)

After the first three months, you should be on your way to a great support network within your mastermind. While the official program wraps up after the end of the first three months, your group will likely spend the next few years working together, celebrating wins, and overcoming challenges.

How We Create Mastermind Matches

With over 1000 successful matches under our belt, we have brought together founders from all walks of life, from over 50 countries, across 20 time zones, and with a collective $150M+ in ARR.

Many successful founders we know have come to lean on their masterminds to sanity check decisions, help with accountability, and keep them motivated on this long journey of building and growing their startup.

1) The Application.

We focus on a number of key data points and applicant narrative responses to get a feel for each applicant’s experience level, expectations, work + personality styles, and other key criteria that allow us to make informed matches

2) A Real Life Human (!) Reviews Every Application

Using the data points applicants submit, we’ve created a proprietary matching system to generate small groups of founder that we feel have the best chance of connecting on a meaningful level. This high touch experience gives us not only a strong understanding of who the MicroConf Community is, but it gives us insight into the individual - not just an email address.

Application Fee

We price our Mastermind Matching Service Application based on your annual revenue. Our prices have been updated as of 2024.

Pre-revenue to $10K ARR = $250
$10K - $100K ARR = $500
$100K - $500K ARR = $1,000
$500,000+ = $2,000

Our aim is for buy-in. If you apply, you should be committed to this process.

Note: In the event you aren’t satisfied with your mastermind, you can email us, and we’ll rematch you with a new mastermind. We honor any mastermind rematch requests for up to 1 year. So, if you submit your mastermind application in June 2022, you can be rematched through June 2023.

As a result, we will not offer refunds unless we are unable to match you into a group (and we will offer to retry next application period if we cannot).

If you quit, are unresponsive, or are otherwise not committed to joining a mastermind, we will keep your money and buy the other members of your group coffee, on you.

FAQs

Q: Is a mastermind right for me?
If you're a B2B SaaS founder looking to take your business to the next level, this mastermind could be a great fit. You'll gain practical insights and proven strategies from experienced entrepreneurs who understand SaaS challenges.

Whether you want to optimize sales, enhance your product, or accelerate marketing, you'll benefit from the guidance and accountability of this supportive community. If you're committed to achieving your ambitious goals, this mastermind could be the catalyst you need to level up your SaaS business.

Q: What is a mastermind vs a mentorship group
A mastermind group is a peer-to-peer mentoring group where individuals with similar goals, interests, or experience levels meet regularly to support, encourage, and challenge each other.

A mentorship group is a group where experienced individuals (mentors) guide and support less experienced individuals (mentees) in their personal or professional development.

Key Differences:

  • Peer-to-peer vs. hierarchical relationship.

  • Shared experiences and goals vs. knowledge transfer from experienced to less experienced individuals.

  • Mutual support and accountability vs. guidance and advice from mentors to mentees.

Q: Do you match non-US-based entrepreneurs?
Absolutely! To date, we've matched entrepreneurs on every continent except Antarctica and across 20 different time zones.

Q: I don’t like my mastermind group. Now what?
Keep going. It takes time to build the rapport you need to have a successful mastermind. If you believe that you have been matched with the wrong group, you will still work with that group for at least 90 days by attending meetings and providing feedback.

Q: I got matched with a direct competitor. Will you rematch me?
We go to extensive lengths to ensure we don't pair up with direct competitors. However, if something falls through the cracks, send us an email at support@microconf.com. We'll re-match you right away.

Q: Can I receive a refund?
If we are unable to match you with a mastermind during the applicable application round, we will reach out and offer you the option to be rematched during our next application cycle, or offer you a refund.

Once we send an introduction to your mastermind group, refunds will no longer be available.

Your purchase includes 1 year of rematching (we run applications 3x per year), so if the group you have been placed with is not a great fit, after you have participated in your , please let us know and we will add you to the rematch pool.

Q: I have another question about the mastermind process.
Sure, send us an email at support@microconf.com. A member of our team will reply right away.

Mastermind Commitment Policy

At MicroConf, we believe that a successful Mastermind experience requires commitment and engagement from all participants. To ensure that everyone gets the most value from their Mastermind group, we ask that you agree to the following when applying to join:

• Respond to the initial introduction email and start communicating with your group within two business days of receiving your match.

• Be flexible in scheduling your first meeting with the group, which should take place within two weeks of receiving your matches.

• If you feel you have been matched with the wrong group, commit to working with them for at least 90 days before requesting a rematch. This includes:

  • Attending scheduled meetings

  • Actively participating in discussions

  • Providing constructive feedback to group members

• Understand that building strong relationships within a Mastermind group takes time. Withdrawing prematurely, even if you ultimately decide the Mastermind isn't right for you, can negatively impact the experience for the rest of the group.

• Commit to fully participating in the Mastermind for the first 90 days before making a final decision about continuing.

• If you do not meet these conditions and there is no evidence of a genuine effort to engage with your Mastermind group, you will not be eligible for a rematch in future rounds.

We appreciate your dedication to creating a valuable and rewarding Mastermind experience for yourself and your fellow participants.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at support@microconf.com.
