Privacy Policy

Effective as of September 2026

Protecting your private information is our priority. This Privacy Policy applies to microconf.com and governs how MicroConf collects, uses, and shares information. By using the MicroConf website, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Information you provide directly. When you buy an event ticket, join MicroConf Connect, apply for a Mastermind group, enroll in a course, sign up for our email list, or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, billing information, and information about your company and product.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our site, we and our service providers automatically collect certain information through cookies and similar tracking technologies, including your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and referring/exit pages.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  • Essential cookies — required for the site to function properly.

  • Analytics — we use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site, including which pages are viewed and how visitors arrived at our site.

  • Advertising — we use the LinkedIn Insight Tag to measure the effectiveness of our LinkedIn advertising and to build retargeting audiences.

  • Email marketing and personalization — we use Drip to manage our email list and understand engagement with our emails, and RightMessage to tailor site content based on your interests and stage.

Your choices. When you first visit our site, you'll see a cookie banner that lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies. Our analytics, advertising, and personalization cookies (including Google Analytics, the LinkedIn Insight Tag, Drip, and RightMessage) do not load until you affirmatively accept them through this banner. You can change your preference at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link on our site, or by adjusting your browser settings to block cookies (note that some site features may not function properly if you do).

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve our website, events, community, and programs

  • Process ticket purchases, memberships, and course enrollments

  • Communicate with you about MicroConf events, MicroConf Connect, Masterminds, courses, and related services, including TinySeed and the SaaS Institute

  • Understand aggregate usage patterns and improve our marketing

  • Comply with legal obligations

Sharing Information with Third Parties

MicroConf does not sell your personal information for money. We share information with the following categories of service providers, who are contractually restricted from using it for any purpose other than providing services to MicroConf:

  • Google (Google Analytics) — for website analytics

  • LinkedIn — for advertising measurement and retargeting. Under California law, sharing information with LinkedIn for purposes of cross-context behavioral advertising may be considered a "share" of personal information, even though no money changes hands. See "Your California Privacy Rights" below for how to opt out.

  • Drip — for email marketing and communications

  • RightMessage — for on-site content personalization

  • Service providers who help us sell event tickets, process payments, host our community platform, run courses, schedule calls, and manage internal workflows — these providers are contractually limited to using your information solely to provide services to MicroConf

We may also disclose your information if required by law, to protect our legal rights, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

  • Right to know what personal information we've collected, used, and shared about you

  • Right to delete personal information we've collected from you

  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information

  • Right to opt out of the sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising (this covers our use of the LinkedIn Insight Tag)

  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights

To opt out of sharing for advertising purposes, decline non-essential cookies in our cookie banner, or use the "Cookie Preferences" link on our site. This will prevent the LinkedIn Insight Tag from loading on your future visits.

To exercise your right to know, delete, or correct, contact us at support@microconf.com with the subject line "California Privacy Request." We'll respond within the timeframe required by law and may need to verify your identity before processing your request.

We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law.

Security

We use industry-standard measures, including SSL encryption, to protect your personal information. Payment card details are processed by our payment providers and are not stored on our servers. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

MicroConf does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Email Communications

From time to time, MicroConf may contact you via email with event announcements, community updates, and other communications. We may receive a notification when you open an email or click a link in it. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any bulk email.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

THE PARTIES AGREE THAT A PARTY MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN EACH'S INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PUTATIVE CLASS, COLLECTIVE AND/OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING, SUCH AS IN THE FORM OF A PRIVATE ATTORNEY GENERAL ACTION AGAINST THE OTHER. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ALL SUCH INFORMATION, SOFTWARE, PRODUCTS, SERVICES AND RELATED GRAPHICS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OR CONDITION OF ANY KIND. MICROCONF AND/OR ITS SUPPLIERS HEREBY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS WITH REGARD TO THIS INFORMATION, SOFTWARE, PRODUCTS, SERVICES AND RELATED GRAPHICS, INCLUDING ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

BECAUSE SOME STATES/JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES, THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. IF YOU ARE DISSATISFIED WITH ANY PORTION OF THE SITE, OR WITH ANY OF THESE TERMS OF USE, YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY IS TO DISCONTINUE USING THE SITE.

Termination/Access Restriction

MicroConf reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate your access to the Site and the related services or any portion thereof at any time, without notice. To the maximum extent permitted by law, this agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota and you hereby consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of courts in Minnesota in all disputes arising out of or relating to the use of the Site. Use of the Site is unauthorized in any jurisdiction that does not give effect to all provisions of these Terms, including, without limitation, this section.

You agree that no joint venture, partnership, employment, or agency relationship exists between you and MicroConf as a result of this agreement or use of the Site. MicroConf's performance of this agreement is subject to existing laws and legal process, and nothing contained in this agreement is in derogation of MicroConf's right to comply with governmental, court and law enforcement requests or requirements relating to your use of the Site or information provided to or gathered by MicroConf with respect to such use. If any part of this agreement is determined to be invalid or unenforceable pursuant to applicable law including, but not limited to, the warranty disclaimers and liability limitations set forth above, then the invalid or unenforceable provision will be deemed superseded by a valid, enforceable provision that most closely matches the intent of the original provision and the remainder of the agreement shall continue in effect.

Unless otherwise specified herein, this agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the user and MicroConf with respect to the Site and it supersedes all prior or contemporaneous communications and proposals, whether electronic, oral or written, between the user and MicroConf with respect to the Site. A printed version of this agreement and of any notice given in electronic form shall be admissible in judicial or administrative proceedings based upon or relating to this agreement to the same extent and subject to the same conditions as other business documents and records originally generated and maintained in printed form. It is the express wish to the parties that this agreement and all related documents be written in English.

Changes to Terms

MicroConf reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to change the Terms under which MicroConf.com is offered. The most current version of the Terms will supersede all previous versions. MicroConf encourages you to periodically review the Terms to stay informed of our updates.
