We are asking all MicroConf Attendees to be vaccinated against COVID-19

As a team, we have come to the decision that all attendees to our upcoming events need to be vaccinated.

We are so excited to open registration for MicroConf Locals in London, Portland, Austin, and Boston, as well as MicroConf Europe in October.

With the wide availability of vaccines in the United States and more doses becoming available across the globe, it is our responsibility to protect our attendees from the potential risks associated with COVID-19 spread during live events.

News of events like the Miami Bitcoin Conf experiencing COVID spread has made it clear that it is the responsibility of event organizers to do everything in their power to curb the potential risks associated with the in-person event-based spread of the virus.

For the next 5 months, all attendees joining us for MicroConf programming will be required to provide proof of vaccination to attend.

A person is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after the second dose of a two-dose series, or two weeks after a single dose of a one-dose vaccine.

This is a good thing. It means we can host events, something we have been desperate to do for the last 18 months. We can welcome our biggest supporters to meet with one another, learn from some of the brightest minds in independent and bootstrapped SaaS, and continue to create a community of belonging that will outlast this vaccine requirement.

We know that this may prevent some of you from attending this year. We are sorry. It sucks. But so has this whole COVID situation. We simply ask that you allow us to do what is right in the short term to protect our community so that in the long term, we can continue earning the trust that you have placed in us and our events.

This will not be forever, but for now it’s what’s required for the safety of our attendees.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: If I’ve already tested positive for COVID-19, do I still need to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination to attend in person?

A: Yes, you will still need to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination to attend in person.

Q: Are there any special circumstances in which you will accept a negative COVID-19 test instead of proof of a COVID-19 vaccination?

A: Unfortunately, no. For your safety, as well as the safety of all our onsite attendees, everyone who is not vaccinated against COVID-19 will not be able to attend in person.

Q: I cannot get vaccinated for medical reasons. Does this mean I cannot attend?

A:  If you are comfortable sharing your situation regarding your required medical exemption, we will review this on a case by case basis.  A letter stating your requested medical exemption from your healthcare provider may need to be submitted in absence of your proof of vaccination.

Q: Will I need to wear a mask and socially distance at these events if everyone is vaccinated?

A: Mask and social distancing requirements for each event will be determined closer to event dates, taking into consideration venue and municipality guidelines. For MicroConf Europe, current social distancing and masking guidelines requires attendees to wear a mask and maintain 2m social distance.

Q: Will international citizens be able to attend? Will you accept international vaccinations?

A: Absolutely. A full list of accepted vaccines will be added to individual event websites in the coming months.

Q: How will vaccine verification be handled?

A: Depending on the location of the event, we will be partnering with a third party verification service. We are still working on implementing this partnership, so at point of purchase, you will need to confirm that you are either a) fully vaccinated at time of ticket purchase, or b) will be fully vaccinated in time for your attendance at the event. Closer to the date of each event, we will send you access to the information you need to complete the verification process.
